I would like to bring to your urgent attention about the critical condition of Father Thadeus Nguyen Van Ly a Founder of Bloc 8406 Freedom and Democracy For Vietnam.
At 14.30 PM on 25.07.2011 ( Vietnam local time), Father Thadeus Nguyen Van Ly, has just been rearrested by the Vietnamese Communist Police. Father Ly was put in an Ambulance, followed by Police Vehicle. He suffered a stroke, and is recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. Father Le Quang Vien reluctantly signed a paper confirming his arrest with the local Security force with a notation that “Father Ly’s is in no medical condition to be arrested and put in jail”.
His fellow priest Father Phan Van Loi (who is also a prisoner of conscience currently under house arrest) tried to contact Father Le Quang Vien and after a couple of sentences, the phone on the other end abrupty cut.
Father Thadeus Nguyen Van Ly’ health is in serious condition. We are seriously concerned that Father Ly will very likely ending up like another prisoner of conscience, Mr. Nguyen Van Trai, of whom passed away in prison this month (11/7/2011) after a long serious illness in prison (15 year-sentence). It is noted that the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Trai begged the Communist Regime to grant his last wish to die at home. The request was un-humantariantly and cruelly denied just 2 days before his death.
Father Phan Van Loi calls on the international community to help Father Ly as his medical condition means that the brutal communist prison regime may be fatal for him this time. Recently Father Ly has called for a Middle-Eastern style democracy uprising and has denounced the Vietnam’s Communist Party for colluding with China, giving away Vietnamese territories to China and turning Vietnam into a Chinese colony. It is the latest accusation that reveals Vietnamese Communist Party’s weakest point and triggers this cruel move to silence Father Ly’s voice of conscience. Báo động: Linh mục Ta-đê-ô Nguyễn Văn Lý đã bị Cộng sản đưa vào lại nhà tù
Kính thưa toàn thể Đồng bào VN và các Cơ quan Nhân quyền Quốc tế.
Vào lúc 14g30 ngày 25-07-2011 (giờ VN), công an CSVN đã tới Nhà Chung, thuộc Tòa Tổng Giám Mục Huế, 69-Phan Đình Phùng Huế, để đưa Linh mục tù nhân lương tâm Nguyễn Văn Lý vào lại nhà tù. (Công an đem xe hơi và cả xe cứu thương đến).
Trước khi tiến hành công việc, công an đã yêu cầu vị Quản lý Nhà Chung là Linh mục Lê Quang Viên ký giấy xác nhận sự việc. Linh mục Lê Quang Viên đã ký nhận, với điều kiện ghi rõ rằng: “Linh mục Nguyễn Văn Lý đang còn trong tình trạng bệnh tật, chưa bình phục gì“. Sau một hồi đôi co, cuối cùng công an phải chấp nhận. Nhờ một người quen cấp báo, chúng tôi đã liên lạc ngay với Linh mục Lê Quang Viên để kiểm chứng sự việc. Cả hai chúng tôi mới nói được vài câu thì bị cúp máy.
Xin được lưu ý là kể từ khi được tạm ra ngoài, về lại Nhà Chung, Tòa TGM Huế, để chữa bệnh (15 tháng 3 năm 2010), vị tù nhân lương tâm đã liên tục đấu tranh cho tự do tôn giáo và dân chủ nhân quyền. Đặc biệt, kể từ đầu năm 2011 đến nay, Linh mục Lý đã liên tục báo động về hiểm họa mất nước vào tay của Tàu Cộng nhờ sự đồng lõa và hèn nhát của Việt cộng. Các sự việc tại VN trong tháng 6 và tháng 7 này ngày càng xác nhận chính điều đó. Rõ ràng Việt cộng muốn bịt miệng thêm một tiếng nói can đảm và kiên trì!
Vậy kính xin thông báo cùng toàn thể Đồng bào VN trong và ngoài nước. Xin Quý Đồng bào theo dõi, vì có thể Linh mục Nguyễn Văn Lý sẽ là Nguyễn Văn Trại thứ hai (Ông Nguyễn Văn Trại là một tù nhân chính trị đang phải thọ bản án 15 năm tù thì đã chết trong nhà tù trại Z30A vào lúc 10.30g sáng ngày Thứ Hai 11/07/2011).
