Kính thưa quí vị,

Tôi tên Trần văn Huỳnh, 75 tuổi, công dân Việt Nam, hiện sinh sống tại TP. Hồ Chí Minh.

Qua thư ngỏ này, tôi xin trân trọng xin quí vị quan tâm cho những việc đã được thực hiện với WGAD (Nhóm công tác về việc giam cầm tùy tiện thuôc Liên Hiệp Quốc) liên quan đến trường hợp con tôi là Trần Huỳnh DuyThức (THDT) đã bị buộc tội oan sai và tùy tiện kết án 16 năm tù giam, 5 năm quản chế.

Sau đây là những thư khiếu nại do chính tôi và một vài nhân sĩ hoặc tổ chức có uy tín thực hiện:

1. Ngày 11/1/2012, với tư cách là cha của THDT, tôi đã gởi Thư khiếu nại với WGAD thông qua Văn phòng Cao ủy LHQ về Nhân quyền (UNHCHR Office) ở Geneva, đề nghị họ hành động kịp thời giúp con tôi theo tinh thần Tuyên ngôn Quốc tế về Nhân quyền (Universal Declaration of Human Rights. 2. Cũng ngày 11/01/2012, Tiến sĩ Nguyễn Thanh Giang, một nhà hoạt động dân chủ rất nổi tiếng và uy tín cao ở Việt Nam cũng có Thư gởi WGAD thông qua Văn phòng Cao ủy LHQ về Nhân quyền ở Geneva, để khiếu nại cho THDT. Chỉ non 2 tuần trước đó, ngày 29/11/2011, ông cho đăng tải bài viết của ông mang tựa đề “Ngôi sao bị nhốt”, tạo ra một hiệu ứng thu hút sự chú ý trong công luận Việt Nam. 3. Quan trọng hơn nữa là lời kêu gọi công chúng đầy ấn tượng “Hãy lên tiếng vì Trần Huỳnh Duy Thức và những người đã dấn thân vì đất nước” vừa được phát động bởi DANLAMBAO, một trang mạng xã hội rất nổi tiếng và nhiều uy tín ở Việt Nam, đề nghị mọi người trong cộng đồng, nếu được, nên viết một lá thư tương tự gửi WGAD khiếu nại cho THDT hoặc bất cứ chiến sĩ đấu tranh cho dân chủ nào khác đã bị giam cầm tùy tiện. 4. Không lâu trước khi tiến hành tìm kiếm sư hỗ trợ của WGAD, ngày 29/11/2011, sau khi suy nghĩ cân nhắc, tôi đã quyết định viết “Thư gởi Tổng thống Barrack Hussein Obama”, với hi vọng có thể đó là cách làm phần nào hiệu quả hơn. Để tham khảo, xin mời bấm vào đây.

Sau cùng nhưng không kém quan trọng, tôi cũng trân trọng đề nghị WGAD có sự quan tâm sâu sát hơn đối với Trần Huỳnh Duy Thức, con tôi, cũng như các bạn cùng cảnh ngộ là Lê Thăng Long, Lê Công Định và Nguyển Tiến Trung đã cùng bị kết tội trong cùng một vụ án, và đề nghị WGAD có hành động tương ứng phù hợp với Tuyên ngôn Quốc tế về Nhân quyền (Universal Declaration of Human Rights).

Open letter to World Human Rights Organizations

To whom it may concern

Dear Sirs,

My name is Tran Van Huynh , 75 years old , Vietnamese citizen, living in Ho Chi Minh City.

By this open letter, I would like to draw your attention to what has been done with WGAD regarding the case of my son named Tran Huynh Duy Thuc (THDT for short) falsely accused and arbitrarily sentenced to 16 years in prison and 5 years probation. Here below are the complaints made by myself and other notable persons or organizations:

1. On January 11, 2012, I myself, as father of THDT, sent a Complaint to WGAD c/o UNHCHR Office in Geneva, asking them to take action for my son according the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Please refer to the related attachments here below for more information in detail.

2. Also on January 11, 2012, the Letter to WGAD from Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang in Geophysics, a very well – known and notable democracy activist in VN, was addressed to the UN / HCHR Office in Geneva as a complaint for THDT. Just nearly 2 weeks before that, on November 29, 2011 he posted a respectable article entitled “Star locked in jail” creating a spectacular effect in the public opinion in Viet Nam.

Please refer to the related documents attached hereunder for more information in detail.

3. More importantly is the striking appeal to the public “Let’s raise our voice in favor of THDT and those who have involved themselves in acting for the country and the people” recently launched by DANLAMBAO, a very famous and prestigious social bookmark in VN, suggesting that, if possible, everybody in the community should send a similar Complaint to WDAG for THDT or for any other democracy fighter arbitrarily detained. The more participants to this democratic campaign the better.

4. Not long before proceeding to WGAD to look for support, on 29/11/2011, after thinking carefully, I decided to send a “Letter to President Barrack Hussein Obama”, as my international efforts to save my son, hoping that it may be a more effective approach. For your reference, please click here.

Last but not least, I also would like to suggest WGAD to have closer and deeper concern to my son THDT as well as his friends Le Thang Long, Le Cong Dinh and Nguyen Tien Trung who were arbitrarily convicted together in the same law case, and to act accordingly in conformity with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
